The Celtic Sea Minerals team was in attendance at the recent Trident MicroNutri conference roadshow held in Tipperary, where the central theme was “Strategies for Optimising Gut Health and Mitigating Mycotoxin Risks.” The event brought together leading experts and industry professionals to share the latest research and practical approaches for improving animal health and performance.
A highlight of the day was the presentation by J.C. (Kees) Plaizier, who explored the complex topic of “Leaky Gut in Ruminants.” His session delved into the intricate relationship between Subacute Ruminal Acidosis (SARA), hindgut acidosis, and the immune system, highlighting how disruptions in gut integrity can have far-reaching effects on overall animal health.
Following this, Dr. Benjamin Wenner from FEEDWORKS USA, LTD. delivered a unique and insightful talk on “Feeding the Rumen to Maximise Milk Components.” His presentation focused on nutritional strategies that enhance rumen function and drive improvements in milk composition, offering practical applications for dairy producers.
To close the conference, Martin McConnell provided an excellent summary, tying together key insights from all the presentations. He emphasized the role of Acid Buf in supporting ruminant nutrition, reinforcing its importance as part of a holistic approach to gut health and performance.
