Sustainability in animal feed nutrition

The world we live in is changing. The awareness for sustainability in animal feed nutrition is increasing. Animal feed producers assess the environmental impact of their production. This demands the same level of commitment from animal feed ingredient suppliers. The marine minerals produced by Celtic Sea Minerals are truly sustainable and support the global agriculture sustainability goals to feed the future in a responsible way.

We have recognised that we need to communicate our Companies commitment to science and full circle sustainability. On the product application side, the science shows significant benefits in feed conversion efficiency across ruminant and monogastric species. Further independent research from the University of Western Australia demonstrates a reduction in methane production of 28% when

CalMin
ProMin
Acid Buf
was fed as part of a rumen control experiment. We have independently demonstrated a win for agriculture and the environment.

Our harvesting technology is modern, efficient and environmentally friendly. Every harvesting operation is carefully undertaken with experienced people and attention to detail. By logging the GPS location and coordinates of the individual grids during extraction, we ensure that no grid area is harvested from more than once. Environmental impact assessments are regularly carried out by independent marine institutes. It is concluded that our activities are fully compliant with the license terms and conditions.

In the year 2015 Celtic Sea Minerals switched to using renewable sources of energy. By doing this, Celtic Sea Minerals have reduced their carbon footprint significantly. The energy used for the production process is generated by either Geo-thermal energy or Hydro Electric. These sources are completely 100% renewable energy sources.

Our production expertise is also designed to keep our marine minerals rich, natural and the nutritional content intact. Our dedicated team and fully compliant safety systems mean product safety is assured. Marine minerals from Celtic Sea Minerals are truly natural animal feed ingredients offering a broad range of nutritional solutions. We are an excellent supplier for animal feed manufacturers looking to adopt and strengthen a platform for sustainable, responsible and more profitable animal livestock production.
